Test Drive with a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang

This month we got to work on a client's 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang's front disc brake conversion. After install, we wanted to take it on the road to see how it performed, so we took off for a quick break at our favorite brewery in Oklahoma City: Stonecloud.

Not only have we been able to repair the front disc brake conversion and install a rear Galaxy drum brake upgrade, but we have also made upgrades to the performance of the Mustang. With a Holley Sniper Fuel Injection kit, Holley Hyper Spark Ignition System, and Koni Shocks, we have made the drive much smoother.

The release of the 1965 Ford Mustang was highly anticipated.Ford secured deals for the Mustang to be the pace car at the Indianapolis 500, and a few months later, it was featured in 007's Goldfinger.

With dealerships running special promotions of an early release, demand skyrocketed before the final 1965 Mustang hit the lot. The earlier version, used for promotion, was then designated the 1964.5 Ford Mustang.

This iconic piece of history turned heads all along our trip down to Stonecloud and holds a special place in automobile history. It has been a blast for our crew to work on and get behind the wheel with.
